The last couple days have been... _eventful_
Made some wonderful memories. Made some questionable decisions.
There is a part of me that is glad that no one I actually know in real life reads these. There might be a few people who know that I have a deviant art account, but none that would take the time to seek out my journal. So there is a certain amount of -safety- in placing things online.
Even then, I don't know how much I want to divulge here. Because I am pretty sure I have reached grade A levels of douche-baggery...
The worst thing is...I don't regret my decision. On the other hand it has also made things more confusing.

I guess that writing journal entries is supposed to be cathartic. Looking at some of my past ones; it definitely seems to be the case.
There's nothing wrong with venting, I think. So there's that. And also when I start typing stream-of-consciousness style into the vast aether of the interwebs, it tends to be some of my better work. ("Better" and "Work" being generous at best)
I find myself, yet again, in the land of the rising sun. I have spent over seven years here across three different spans, and by the end of this one, it will have been just over 9 years.
This time, I'm here with my wife. So that's a definite change from the last

So, it is now 2016.
I've been on DeviantArt for a long time. Mostly just lurking, and hiring the occasional artist for commissions.
But, there is a chance that I might be creating something more!
I'll still be posting writing stuff on occasion, but a friend of mine wants to stretch their wings artistically, and collaborate on a webcomic/webseries. We're still discussing details, but am excited.
(I'm also going to be posting art that I have commissioned in the past for various RPG games that I've been working with too)
Looking for Cartographers
So, I don't even know who is watching this anymore, because I haven't updated it in earnest in like... years...
But that might change.
Right now I am looking for cartographers who can make some fantasy-style maps from images pillaged from Google Maps/Google Earth.
Anybody interested, send me a note, and we can see about making it something we do.

Deviant Art Journal Entry
So, I am trying to get back on board with at least updating my journal. It will be a 'heartbeat' proving that I am alive.
My military career continues to have me moving a lot and jumping through hoops. But for now, I have just gotten my Security+ certification. I now have documented knowledge of network security best-practices. Which is a way of saying the civilian sector will acknowledge the work I've been doing in the Navy for the past 10 years.
